Four of the nation’s top cancer centers just announced they are coming together with big tech under the new Cancer AI Alliance (CAIA).
Backed by tech heavyweights like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, Deloitte, NVIDIA, and Slalom providing over $40 million in funding and AI capabilities.
The goal? 🚀
To unlock the hidden potential of cancer data, and bring together siloed scientific knowledge to uncover and identify new treatments and breakthroughs.
While all this data has existed for a while, regulations and differences in formatting make it incredibly challenging for medical organizations to share data efficiently.
Thomas J. Lynch Jr., M.D., President and Director of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center , said that
“This alliance helps solve the key technical challenges that will enable us to securely use both AI and massive computational power to find these breakthrough insights and save more lives,”
